Pray With Us
Prayer is central to our mission. Given the living conditions in Cite Soleil along with all the realities in Haiti, we could easily be overwhelmed and see little hope for the future. Yet with God’s love and our unity as sisters and brothers in Christ, all things are possible. Our hope is that sustained and strengthened by prayer, we can daily continue to work together for that peace which is built on justice, and a quality of life for all of the children of God. We have jointly written a prayer translated into Creole and English and our two communities are connected by raising our voices to God each day with that prayer. We invite you to unite your voices to ours in the prayer below so that we may all let our hearts be open and guided by God’s will for our mission.
We also pray for each others intentions each week. Periodically we will post those intentions here as well for you to join us in that prayer.
Cite Soleil Companions in Christ Prayer
Good and Loving God, we join our voices and praise and glorify you and to thank you for your faithful, compassionate, strong, and merciful love. We thank you for living through us and for loving us. With your love and with our unity as sisters and brothers in Our Lord, Jesus Christ, all things are possible. We ask you to guide us through this journey of faith and to be a constant support for all, as we work for the peace that is built on justice and for a quality of life for everyone. Help us to build relationships and to become a community that vulnerably shares each other’s burdens and the weight of glory. Transform our hearts, so that we can suffer with the ones who are suffering and be joyful with the ones who are joyful. Teach us what true compassion is, so that all together we can really be one. Bless us and this mission so that we will be able to grow into the freedom of the children of God living together in God’s love. We beg the intercession of Our Mother Mary, Our Lady of Perpetual Help and we place our prayer before you this day through Christ, Our Lord. Amen
